A lot of people out there would want to have beautiful skin, even you. To ensure that we will have that kind of beauty that we dream of, we have to do our part first. We have to stop some bad habits that we have encountered and learned all through our years.
Even though you would deny it, there is a big chance that you have made at least one of these bad habits that are listed down below. Should you know what consequences you will have if you still do it, you will be able to stop doing it for your own good.
7 – Taking Boiling Hot Showers
A lot of people love showers and dipping in bathtubs, especially if the water temperature is hot.
The reason for this is because they say that warm water can ease muscle aches and pains. The only problem to this is if the water is warmer than the recommended temperature, it will be more stimulating on the skin, especially on the face.
Tone down the heat if you want to cleanse, exfoliate and masque in the shower so that you will avoid getting some unneeded redness and inflammation.
6 – Not Sleeping On Time
Some office workers, especially in the call center business, tend to have a lack of sleep due to the nature of their work.
Due to this, it will start a chain reaction that will lead to events that will lessen the production of their collagen, cell turnover, and the repair of the barrier. The result would be that their skin will look duller and drier, and those annoying wrinkles will quickly form.
Just take a good night’s rest (which is usually 7 to 8 hours). A regular sleep cycle is essential for the body because it allows the healthy cell turn over, and it can fix daily damages it takes.
5 – The Junk Food Habit
Junk food is bad, period.
The food that you eat will always affect your skin, despite what other products would tell you. High sugar intake alone would make your levels in blood sugar shoot up to the roof. That will then result in producing a lot of insulin and stimulating oil production hormones that will then give you the curse of adolescence: pimples.
You do not need to think about it. Just do not eat junk food and look at the results in a month or two.
4 – Do Not Ignore The Neck And Chest
The face is not the only part of the body that needs skincare. Every other part also needs skincare like the neck and the chest, so you need to take care of them. These parts are also easily exposed by the sun, but a lot of people tend to ignore this, and that is the part where they fail. You should protect these parts too.
Put on the same thing (on your neck and chest) that you put on your face when you want to protect yourself against the sun and other elements. These items may be serum, face cream, sunscreen, or exfoliating treatment.
3 – Lip Biting
Lip biting is a habit for people who get nervous or when they are thinking of something hard. That could lead you have dried, cracked, and chapped lips, though. Licking them will not do you any good as well because it can dehydrate them.
You can avoid all of this by just buying yourself an excellent exfoliating lip scrub. Just put it on your lips. After that, put on a lip balm to keep your lips moisturized.
2 – Dirty Bed Sheets And Pillowcases
Some may not know this, but it is a fact that pillowcases that cover the pillow you always hug or sleep with every night can absorb the oils on your skin. Those oils that came off from your skin will return to your skin with additional dirt if you do not change the pillowcases frequently.
Just change your pillowcases as often as possible. If you have oily skin, change them every day to prevent what was mentioned above.
1 – Too Much Exfoliating
Pore cleansing leaves you feeling good, relaxed, and clean after the deed is done, but do you know that if you do it too much like, for example, you exfoliate every day, you might just exacerbate your oil production and worsen breakouts by spreading bacteria?
So if you do not want that to happen to your skin, do it once a week. Too much of it will do damage than keeping your skin healthy.
