Halitosis or commonly known as “bad breath” is a known oral disease. Having this problem must first find out what is the cause. Bad breath is often suspected to originate from the mouth, but other cases are severely complicated, such as stomach problems. Other possible causes are respiratory problems, sinus and tonsil problems. Although not a dangerous disease, bad breath can make your interaction with others very limited and can decrease your self-confidence. Let me give you some health advice on how to deal with bad breath naturally.
1. Dental health must be your priority. Always visit your dentist 4 times a year to ensure that your teeth are bacteria-free. Most bad breath comes from a very unclean mouth, so make sure to have teeth cleaning every time you visit your dentist.
2. Brush your teeth and tongue after a meal. It is advisable to clean your mouth every time you consume any food, especially junk foods, and sodas. You may also use dental floss and mouth wash to eliminate those mouth bacteria that reside in your tongue and gums.
3. Always drink water. Water can also help flush those bacteria out of your mouth every after meals. Drinking enough water helps avoid having a bad breath.
4. Chew bubble gum. Chewing can help saliva flowing all the time, making your breath smelling good. Choose sugarless gum to avoid tooth decay.
5. Avoid foods that you know can cause you bad breath. Foods like garlic, ginger, and onions can make your breath so bad, but these vegetables are high in antioxidants. Avoid junk foods and meat because these are proven to make your breath worse. Eat celery and carrots as these foods act as a mouth cleaner.
6. Don’t miss breakfast. Study shows that people who skip breakfast are most likely to have bad breath. An empty stomach produces bad odors that go out through our mouth, causing bad breath. Don’t full your stomach either because the same reaction will take place.
7. Avoid too much alcohol. Moderate your alcohol intake. Rhum and beers are known cause of bad breath. So limit your alcohol intake.
8. Breathing is good therapy for bad breath. Always take time to breathe through the mouth for several minutes. This will help your respiratory problems that sometimes cause bad breath.
9. Don’t smoke. You probably know that smoking causes bad breath. Do I have to say more?
Bad breath can be prevented by taking care of our oral health. Be clean and know what foods can help prevent bad breath. Having a fresh breath all the time is one way to boost self-confidence. You can interact and handle yourself effectively when you feel clean and fresh inside and out.
