Are they really fish?

No, they are not really fish, they have none of the capacities or the amenities that a fish has and are the farthest thing you can get from a fish. This is also used as a defense mechanism when there are predators afoot, it can detach one of its arms to run away from it before it could be eaten. In addition, believe it or not, if the arm survives, it can actually form into a new sea star, we kid you not.

They don’t have blood in their body, instead of that, they have a system of waster in their body pumped into them by the ocean water. This lets them not only move but continue to live as without water they’d dry up, which is a terrible thing.
