When you have unexpected symptoms such as a terrible headache, nausea, increased heart rate, or even some forgetfulness, and they come out of nowhere, more often than not, they are not as ominous as one would think. Yes, sometimes those symptoms can represent something more sinister going on, but you would have other symptoms happening simultaneously, and one symptom is not usually enough to warrant anything. And you do not have to always run to the doctor each time you have a symptom coming out of the blue. Let’s talk about some scary symptoms that can come on suddenly that does not mean you need to head over to the ER.
Increased Heart Rate And Pain In That Area
If your heart rate is elevated with or without pain in the area, it could be as simple as having a panic attack. Not that having panic attacks is simple and not serious, but they are not life-threatening like heart attacks. You would have pain in your arm, nausea, numbness, and back pain if you had chest pain with an elevated heart rate. That could be a heart attack. That but a fast heart rate with or without pain alone means you need to work with a therapist to help you find calming strategies and perhaps medication.
Unexplained Bruises
Many people panic when they see unexplained bruises as they may think it could be leukemia, but if there are no sudden bloody noses, unexplained weight loss, and fainting spells, then you may have likely bumped into something without realizing it, which is where the unexplained bruise came from. You may have gotten up from bed and bumped your leg on the dresser’s side when putting some water into your cup, for example. It will heal.
Swollen Lymph Nodes
The first thing is that if you are fighting an infection, your nodes will swell up, and children have swollen lymph nodes more than adults. It is rarely associated with cancer, but you will want to see the doctor if you have bloody noses out of nowhere, unexplained weight loss, fainting, and fatigue. But odds are, you are fighting a virus without even realizing it. That is why your lymph nodes are swollen.
Ordinary Headache
An ordinary headache is nothing to worry about as it could be caused by lack of sleep, hormonal changes, foods you eat may trigger it, or staring at the computer for too long. All you need to do is take an OCT medication, and the headache will improve. If there is extreme pain with vomiting, then you will want to see your doctor. You could be developing migraines. However, if you have blurred vision and pain in other parts of the body, that is when you want to go to the ER. It could be a brain aneurysm.
Shaky Hands
You may think the worst if your hands are trembling, as you could think you have Huntington’s or Parkinson’s disorder. You may not have slept well the night before, you could be anxious, or you could be on medication that is causing your hands to shake. Also, if you consumed a lot of caffeine, then that could do it too.
The best thing you can do for yourself to have peace of mind is not to start Googling your symptoms, or else you will come up with the worst-case scenario. If you are due for your checkup, it is not a bad idea to mention some of these things to your doctor. However, rarely are these symptoms alone indicative of anything. You want to worry about something when it is warranted.
